Lilies have a variety of meanings, depending on the colour and type. White lilies signify purity and rebirth, whilst pink lilies are associated with femininity, compassion, fortune, and admiration. Orange lilies represent energy and confidence, yellow lilies are a symbol of friendship, and like many red blooms, red lilies symbolise romance and passion. Calla lilies symbolise faithfulness and purity.

Unfortunately, oriental lilies are highly toxic to cats. Even if the cat doesn’t eat the lilies, brushing up against the pollen can cause serious issues if the cat grooms itself afterwards. For these reasons, we recommend that you do not purchase a bouquet containing these flowers for cat owners. Lilies can also cause an upset tummy in dogs, so please keep them out of their reach.

Calla lilies are less dangerous to cats, but can still cause some adverse effects if eaten, especially in large quantities. We recommend keeping calla lilies out of the reach of any pets.

Our bouquets of lilies are sent in bud, which protects them in transit and also helps to extend their vase life. They'll typically open after a couple of days in water. As lilies are prized for their long vase life, it's not unusual for them to last as long as two weeks with proper care.
